I'm a huge fan of Lauren Blakely...adored Mr. O and Big Rock. I
couldn't wait to read this one when I heard it was coming out.
The Hot One is a 2nd chance romance. Delaney and Tyler were lovers
in college. Tyler wanted to focus on his legal career and just dumped
Delaney with no warning. The two have been pining over each other all
the years they were apart. That's the basics without wanting to give
anymore away.
I found this book to be slow and dragged in the middle. There were
points I wanted to give it up, but because of my love of Ms. Blakely's
past books, I wanted to give it a fair chance. I felt the characters
were weaker than her past books, and even the cute banter which I love
in her books fell flat for me.
Would this less than great book stop me from reading any more of her books? No. I'm still a fan. Just not of this book.
